Apple Crumble

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 apples, 1 kg
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 package vanilla sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 50 g raisins
  • 3 tbsp rum
  • Butter for the forms

 

Crumble Ingredients:

  • 160 g flour
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100 g butter

 

Gluten-Free Crumble Ingredients:

  • 80 g rice flour
  • 60 g ground almonds or other nuts
  • 40 g coconut blossom sugar or brown sugar
  • 28 g oil
  • 40 g maple syrup or another liquid sweetener
  • ¼ tsp sea salt

 

Garnish:

  • Powdered sugar

PREPARATION

  1. Soak the raisins in rum for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight.
  2. Peel, quarter, and core the apples and cut them into small pieces.
  3. Drizzle the apples with lemon juice.
  4. Mix the apples with vanilla sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Grease six ovenproof dishes (approx. 8 cm in diameter) with butter.
  6. Preheat the oven to 200°C (convection: 180°C).
  7. For the crumble, mix the flour with sugar and salt.
  8. Knead briefly with your hands to form a crumbly dough.
  9. Distribute the apple cubes into the forms, pressing them down slightly as they will collapse a bit when baking.
  10. Generously cover with crumble.
  11. Bake for 20 minutes.
  12. Serve best while still warm. Optionally, garnish with powdered sugar and vanilla ice cream.
TIP

This dessert is perfect for entertaining guests as it can be prepared in advance. Simply fill the forms and put them in the oven once the guests have arrived. The Apple Crumble can be served directly from the oven after a cooling time of 5 minutes.
