Homemade tahini: It’s that easy!

Why is tahini so healthy?

Tahini is a real superfood that can do much more than just taste good. Sesame paste is full of valuable nutrients: It is rich in calcium, which makes it a real boost for strong bones. There are also healthy, unsaturated fatty acids that support your cardiovascular system. Tahini also provides iron, magnesium and an extra portion of B vitamins, which are essential for your energy metabolism. Whether as a dip, in dressings or sauces – tahini is a versatile nutrient package for your healthy cuisine.

What is tahini used for?

Tahini is a real all-rounder in the kitchen. You can find it classically in hummus and baba ganoush, where it impresses with its creamy consistency and nutty note. But that’s just the beginning! Tahini goes perfectly as a dip with grilled vegetables such as eggplant or as an aromatic sauce with crispy falafel. You can also use it in salad dressings, Asian dishes, or even baking recipes for a special twist. There are no limits to your creativity!

What does tahini taste like?

The taste of tahini is unique: nutty, slightly earthy and with a subtle bitter note that gives it depth. This slight bitterness can be beautifully balanced with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, making the taste even fresher and livelier. Combined with sour yogurt, sweet potatoes or dips, tahini develops its full flavor – intense, creamy and simply delicious.

Can you eat tahini plain?

Spooning tahini straight is a matter of taste, as the slight bitterness is not for everyone. But combined, tahini is a real highlight: with a little jam on bread, stirred into yogurt or as a topping for porridge, it creates an exciting, nutty contrast. Tahini also works wonderfully in combination with sweet fruits such as bananas or dates. Try it out – you’ll be amazed at how versatile it is!

Homemade tahini not only tastes better, but is also free of unnecessary additives.
