Making grape jam yourself is child’s play – especially with the Thermomix! But what do you do if the grape seeds bother you? While they are completely healthy for the body, many people don’t like the slightly bitter taste. In this recipe we show you how to effectively remove the seeds from grapes and prepare a delicious jam without any annoying seeds.
Yes, that works in principle. However, I would suggest that the grapes are first chopped in the Thermomix on level 10 for around 5-10 minutes. This way, the grape seeds are barely noticeable. The seeds of red grapes are noticeably harder than those of white grapes. So you could shorten the time for white grapes.
Remove the seeds: The seeds can be a nuisance, especially in warm dishes. They are particularly hard in blue grapes and taste slightly bitter. Therefore, halve the grapes and remove the seeds with a sharp knife. To prevent the berries from turning brown, they should only be removed from the seeds shortly before you need them. In this recipe, you can finely grind the seeds by pureeing, but you will still notice them. If this bothers you, the seeds must be removed beforehand.
The seeds are safe to eat. Blue grape seeds in particular contain antioxidants and have anti-inflammatory properties.
Fresh grapes should be eaten with the seeds. However, it is important to chew the seeds, otherwise the nutrients cannot be absorbed by the body and the seeds are excreted undigested.
